April 28th, 2013: #76 – Duo Mayr Tiefenbacher

  • Engel Mayr – guitar
  • Mike Tiefenbacher – piano/keyboards

Acoustic guitar and piano, improvisation and composition, consonance and dissonance, contrasts and similarities, all of this is to find in this project. After many years of cooperation in various projects, Engel Mayr and Mike Tiefenbacher decided to express their creativity in a very pure form. The Concept is that not only the improvisations, but the compositions are created in joint work and to bring the nuances and possibilities of the acoustic duo music to the foreground.

“Mike Tiefenbacher and Engel Mayr with their CD provide the evidence that exciting paths in jazz can still be followed, and that, in this genre, still something new can be discovered.” – Michael Ternai – musicaustria.at

“The musical chameleon Engel Mayr, he plays with the Hallucination Company, Russkaja and others, and pianist Mike Tiefenbacher (Billy Cobham, GHO Orchestra) offer a wide range of sounds. Their playing seems to be very quiet and yet sizzling and full of spirits. “– Christian Bakonyi – Concerto Magazine

“Intelligent music for intelligent listeners.” – Leonid Auskern – Jazz square Belarus
