One of the world’s great improvising singers, Phil Minton has worked in jazz (Mike Westbrook Band), rock-in-opposition (News from Babel, Roof) and avant-garde cabaret (his duo with Veryan Weston). In a long and ceaselessly developing career, Minton has pioneered an astonishing array of extended vocal techniques. Several composers have written music designed for Minton’s vocalization. A native of Devon, Minton now resides in London.
