Also an active member in the Toronto improv scene, Karen plays with Ken Aldcroft’s Convergence Ensemble, Pete Johnston’s See Through Trio/Quintet, Imaginary Flesh (formerly Clarinet Panic), THREADS, Interstellar Orchestra, Josh Cole 4tet and has been a long-time member of the great Dave Clark’s Woodshed Orchestra. She was awarded the Chalmers Professional Development Grant by the Ontario Arts Council in 2015 to study with the saxophone section of the ICP Orchestra in Amsterdam and Berlin.

Paul Newman is a saxophonist and composer. A native of Ottawa, he was educated at St. Francis Xavier University, The Banff Centre for the Arts, and most recently, York University where he studied composition with David Mott. Duo Compositions, features Newman in duets with trombonist Heather Segger and saxophonist Karen Ng. His latest solo outing, Compositions for Solo Soprano Saxophone, was released in the spring of 2013. There is another on the way. Paul lives in Toronto with his cat, Mahalia.
