Brûlez Les Meubles is a two-headed musical project imagined by Louis Beaudoin-de la Sablonnière and Éric Normand. Éric and Louis have known each other for many years and share an interest in each other’s creations despite the fact that they evolved from very different genres and backgrounds and that they live more than 500 km from each other.
Each time they meet, they invite different musicians to explore their musical universe, to give life to the melodic and simple compositions that the two musicians prepare in lead pencil, on scattered sheets, during the months that separate their meetings. . The music of the ensembles is both modern and simple, abstract, but meditative and nourished by a common passion for the jazz guitar, from Jim Hall to Bill Frisell, from René Thomas to Brandon Ross.
In the fall of 2022 the group released their second and third albums for Tour de Bras Records: L’Appel du Vide, a trio with drummer Tom Jacques, and Tardif, a quartet with saxophonist and flautist Jean Derome and drummer John Hollenbeck. For their performance at IMOO Fest they will be presenting the latter quartet.
Brûlez Les Meubles is co-presented with Tour de Bras Records and Québec Musiques Parallèles.
